I think he's setting us up so when something bad happens in the world, he can say, I told you so. If only we would keep torturing and rendering and locking people up forever without a trial, the world would be all safe and snugly as houses.

He knows he, and the Decider Guy, have been very very bad, all the dirty laundry is slowly coming out, and it's not pretty. The shit's gonna hit and there just won't be any way to ignore the fact that they committed mass murder and theft on a scale never sceen before in the history of the world. How can the justice department, even such as it is now, not put them on trial? We know where they buried the bodies. Better yet, disappear them to Gitmo and waterboard them until they confess to the Manson murders and every other unsolved crime. Then ask Darth Vadar if he still thinks that toture is swell. That would be fitting.
